The Elba island offers a marvellous variety of scenery, from small hidden coves to long sandy beaches; each corner of Elba holds its own special surprise for visitors. The island is washed by crystal clear water in every shade of blue - a paradise for divers and snorkellers.
It's wooded hills make it ideal for hikers, it's panoramic roads so popular with mountain bikers. Those in search of culture will find it's ancient churches and museums a pleasant alternative to seaside activities.
The Island of Elba is the third largest Italian island after Sicily and Sardinia and is the largest in the Tuscan Archipelago.
It has recently become part of the Tuscan Archipelago's National Park together with the islands of Pianosa, Capraia, Montecristo, Giglio and Giannutri.
Elba has a coastline of 147 km: its main mountain (Monte Capanne) is 1019 metres high, accessed via pathways or by a panoramic cable car.
A tiny airport services the island, permitting only small planes to land from a few privileged european cities. Most visitors arrive by car, others by train travelling to Piombino Marittima station which is very close to the ferry departures. |

* From the top of the XVIII wall that separates the beach from the inner hotel park, a sun deck offers breathtaking sunsets and a unique panorama, especially at night, when the Portoferraio Medici fortresses are all lit.
* The Fabricia Hotel features a variety of three dining area choices. Each of these has its own distinct atmosphere, all offering excellent cuisine served in the casually elegant surroundings and with the true Tuscan hospitality for which the Fabricia Hotel is famous.
* Lunch and dinner are served in the main restaurant, breakfast and cocktails are served in the garden, a snack around the swimming pool's gazebo, along with drinks at the bar in the evening.
* Guests are invited to enjoy the great outdoors by taking one of the hotel's many trail bicycles for a ride up the Elban Park Trails. Some may choose to simply unwind with a stroll down the small Magazzini hamlet.
* Among the many activities, guests may choose to play tennis on the two courts, children can enjoy the ground with swings and slides, play ping pong, bocce, and volley ball, set in the surroundings among a rich Tuscan vegetation. Guided horse back riding excursions all over the island can be organized by the hotel.

All the top floor guest rooms enjoy a spectacular view of the entire gulf of Portoferraio, overlooking the XVI century Medici fortresses and the XIII century Mount Volterraio castle. Detached from the main hotel body, three special rooms have a sheltered private front yard resting on the beach's XVIII century wall.
